We keep cookies minimal. Below is the complete list of what we set, why, and how to opt out.
Strictly necessary
The Laravel session cookie (laravel_session) and CSRF token (XSRF-TOKEN) are required to keep you logged in and to protect form submissions. Without them, accounts and billing don’t work. These expire when your session ends.
Analytics (optional)
On the production site only, we load Google Analytics 4 and PostHog to understand aggregate usage and diagnose broken workflows. GA4 drops _ga and _ga_* cookies. PostHog uses a first-party cookie or browser storage to maintain an analytics identity and session. Neither service is connected to an advertising network.
PostHog can record a privacy-masked session replay. Form inputs, code/preformatted content and PLC editor surfaces are masked, and canvas recording is disabled. These analytics services are not loaded in local or staging builds. The product works with a content blocker on.
No tracking beyond these
We don’t use advertising cookies or browser fingerprinting. The analytics services listed above are the only product tracking services loaded by this site. Payment cookies are set by Dodo Payments only on their own domain during checkout — they never touch ours.
How to disable
- Use your browser’s cookie controls to block third-party cookies, or clear site data for
plcsimulationsoftware.com. - Install a standard content blocker to stop GA4 and PostHog from loading. The core product still works.
- You can also opt out of GA4 with Google’s browser add-on.
Blocking the strictly-necessary cookies will break log in.
